John Barricelli, owner and chef of the SoNo Baking Company in South Norwalk and author of "The Seasonal Baker: Easy Recipes from My Home Kitchen to Make Year-Round," will be the featured speaker on Tuesday, Aug. 28, at 7 p.m. at the Darien Library's Adult Summer Reading Grand Finale Party.

The party will include a drawing for a new iPad.

A follow-up to "SoNo Baking Company Cookbook," the new, seasonal book has 135 sweet and savory recipes that Barricelli makes at home. His family stories and seasonally driven use of produce make it easy to create fresh food for everyday baking. He also includes a glossary on how to buy, store and prepare fruits and vegetables.

Barricelli worked at Martha Stewart's magazines and television and radio shows. He was also the host of the PBS show "Everyday Baking." A third-generation baker with 30 years of experience, he worked at River Cafe, Le Bernardin and Four Seasons before opening his own bakeries. He is a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America.

All summer, library patrons have been filling out book review/prize entry cards during the reading program. A drawing from the basket of reviews will reveal the winner of a new iPad. Patrons who attend the party will receive an extra chance to win.

Books will be available for purchase. Refreshments will be served.
