Darien was well-represented among Connecticut Republicans who gathered at the Stamford Hilton for the annual Prescott Bush Awards Dinner, hosted by state chairman Jerry Labriola Jr.

The Prescott Bush Sr. Award was presented to Linda McMahon in recognition of her leadership as a candidate and advocate for Republicans on the local, state and federal government levels.

The Fenton `Pat" Futtner Award was presented to Edward Dadakis, former Greenwich Republican Town Committee chairman and State Central Committee Member. He has been a part of numerous statewide and local campaigns.

The Women's Leadership Award was given to Erin Stewart, who age 26 went on to overcome a 6-1 Democratic advantage to become mayor of New Britain. A former member of the New Britain Board of Education, she worked to help make her community's school system more effective for students and more efficient for taxpayers.

The keynote speaker, former Gov. Jeb Bush, spoke on current issues, his own aspirations for the country and the Republican Party.
