Darien Rowayton Bank has awarded Person-to-Person a grant for its varied programs.

Person-to-Person is a volunteer-driven, community-supported agency, which, through the sharing of goods and talents, responds to individuals and families who lack the basic necessities or resources to improve their lives.

The nonprofit organization provides emergency food, clothing, shelter, camperships and scholarships.

More than 90 percent of all donations go directly to programs.

As of Nov. 1, the Darien-based Person-to-Person merged with Christian Community Action of Norwalk, and now will be able to help more people and provide additional aid to clients.

Darien Rowayton Bank is headquartered in Darien, with a branch in Rowayton and a home mortgage office in Niantic.

The bank provides a full range of deposit accounts, home mortgages, and commercial loans.
