A representative from the Southwestern Connecticut Agency on Aging will be available at the Darien Senior Center Tuesday, Oct. 9, at 10 a.m. to provide a presentation on Medicare. The discussion will focus on the latest changes to Medicare for 2013, including Part D prescription drug plans, Medicare A and B and the Medicare Advantage plans.
The annual enrollment period for Medicare beneficiaries to evaluate and make changes begins Oct. 15 and ends Dec. 7.
A representative from Bankers Life and Casualty Co. will answer questions regarding long-term care at the senior center on Thursday, Oct. 11, at 11 a.m.
The need for long-term care services can occur at any age as a result of an accident, injury or illness. Services can sometimes last longer than patients and their families expect. Long-term care can also have a serious effect on the health and financial well-being of your children and family if they must provide your ongoing care themselves.
A complimentary lunch will be served immediately after the presentation. Register by Wednesday, Oct. 10, at 203-656-7455.
The Blue Notes will visit the center on Tuesday, Oct. 16, at 12:30 p.m. The Blue Notes are a group of women who volunteer to bring the joy of music to the community -- both as a form of entertainment, and as a form of therapy. The Blue Notes have been a part of the Darien Community Association since 2004.
