Last week three swimmers from the Darien YMCA Piranha Team competed in the NASA Senior Championships in Clearwater, FL.

In all, the Piranhas broke 10 team records and only three swims were not best times. Phoebe Slaughter brought home gold medals in the 16/under girl’s 200 and 400 Freestyle, broke eight team records and made finals (top 16) in all her events cracking the top eight in three of her five events.

Her winning times in the 200 and 400 Freestyle broke the girl’s 15-18 and open team records and she did the same in the 200 Backstroke and 400 IM.

Erik McKenna broke the team record in the 400 Freestyle finishing sixth in the senior boy’s 100 backstroke and placed 11th in 200 Backstroke.

Rounding out the week was Jesse Stewart who swam to best times in four of her five swims.
