Boys Cross Country
The GFA boys cross country team ran well last week at Tod's Point in Greenwich against six FAA teams in a fast three-mile course. Senior Kenner Clark (Darien) competed in his first race since mid-September and finished with an impressive time of 17:34.
Junior Andrew Holiday (Darien) eclipsed his previous best time by almost a minute, crossing the line at 19:54. The boys defeated four of the six teams they faced to raise their league record to 10-5.
Boys Soccer
The GFA boys soccer team (7-1) defeated The Masters School (NY) 5-3 last week.
GFA built a 4-2 lead at the half.
Senior goalkeeper Ryan Friend (Darien) led the defense and got some help from Charlie Salmans (Darien).
Girls Soccer
The undefeated GFA girls soccer team (7-0-1) defeated the Wooster School 5-0.
Junior Tia Carson (Westport) crossed the ball to senior Phebe Wong (Darien), who put it past a diving Wooster goalie for a 1-0 lead. It was Wong's first of two goals.
In the second half, senior captain Kiki Kauffman (Darien) notched an assist to give GFA a 3-0 lead.
Campbell Goldsmith (Darien) played tough in the center-midfield and center-defensive positions.
