The No. 3 ranked Darien boys cross country team went 3-1 last week, claiming victories over Staples (25-32), McMahon (19-44) and Westhill (15-50). Darien suffered its lone defeat against No. 4 Danbury (25-30).
Leading the way for Darien was Marshall Huffman, who covered the 2.5-mile course in 13:40, good enough for third place overall.
Rounding out the top seven were Peter Kreuch in 16th in 14:17 and Alex Ryahill in 18th in 14:42.
Both Danbury and Darien were missing key runners due to injuries.
"We were a little sluggish today," Darien coach Tyson Kaczmarek said. "It was not an ideal start to the season, but one we can definitely build on."
