Darien boys hockey team to host annual fundraising Blue Wave car wash

The Darien boys hockey team is holding its annual fundraising car wash on Saturday from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. at the Darien Ice Rink.

As the school year is beginning, head coach Chris Gerwig and his staff met with the captains to identify key goals for the upcoming season.

"It was a unanimous decision. The No. 1 goal of the team this year is to get back into the FCIAC Championship game and win," Gerwig said. "Last year, we got a taste of victory in the final game against Ridgefield and came up just a little short. So this year we are going to work hard to change that. We are excited for a great season."
