Rain is falling across southwestern Connecticut early morning, and the National Weather Service predicts there is a possibility of more showers throughout the day until late tonight.

The daytime high temperature is expected to rise to about 63 degrees, with an east wind between 7 and 10 mph.

The threat of showers eases after 10 p.m. tonight, under cloudy skies, The low temperature should be about 53 degrees.

Tomorrow and Thursday, the NWS says, should break the recent cycle of showers and clouds, with sunny skies and high temperatures in the upper-70s.

But by Thursday night, more showers are possible, the weather service predicts.

On Friday: there remains a chance of showers and thunderstorms, the NWS predicts. The day will be mostly cloudy, with a high near 74 degrees.
