Darien girls hockey team blanks Fairfield for sixth straight win

The Darien girls hockey team hosted Fairfield Warde/Ludlowe tonight at the Darien Ice Rink and scored all three of its goals in the second period for a 3-0 shutout win, its sixth victory in a row.

Julia Arrix scored first with assists from Georgia Cassidy and Katie Zaro for the game-winning goal. Cassidy scored the next goal with help from Marissa Baker and Chandler Kirby. The Blue Wave's final goal came courtesy of Schuyler van den Broek, assisted by Allegra Molkenthin and Christy Conley.

Darien blasted 18 shots on goal in the first, 25 in the second and nine in the third for a total of 52.

Fairfield had three shots on goal in the first and two in the third.

Izzy Scribano was in goal for Darien, making five saves for her fourth shutout this season. Stephanie Gabriel made 49 saves for Fairfield.

Darien improved to 13-2-1(9-1 FCIAC).
