Darien girls hockey team cruises to shutout win over Fairfield Warde/Ludlowe

The Darien girls hockey team remained undefeated by picking up a 7-0 win over Fairfield Warde/Ludlowe at the Wonderland of Ice in Bridgeport on Thursday.

Darien's Schuyler van den Broek scored two in the first period with assists from Georgia Cassidy and Julia Arrix. Allegra Molkenthin also scored unassisted in the first for the 3-0 lead heading into the second period.

Darien's only goal of the second period came courtesy of Christy Conley, as Cassidy picked up the assist.

In the third, Cassidy scored with an assist from Marisa Baker, Schuyler picked up the hat trick with an assist from Conley and Ellie Bennett scored with an assist from Molkenthin.

Darien's goaltending was evenly split with Shannon Hall starting and facing no shots. Izzy Scribano went in halfway through the second period and made two saves to complete the shutout.

Darien outshot Fairfield 51-2.

Up next for Darien (5-0-1, 3-0 FCIAC) is a home tilt against Wilton/Norwalk/Stamford at the Darien Ice Rink on Monday 8:10 p.m.
