Christopher Robinson, 51, of 20 Anthem Lane, Darien, was arrested Oct. 7 on charges of driving while intoxicated and failure to drive right.
He turned himself in after learning an arrest warrant had been issued for a Sept. 7 car accident in which he was seriously injured and his 2003 Chevrolet station wagon heavily damaged, according to the report.
Robinson, the only occupant of the car, had been driving west on Ledge Road when his vehicle crossed the grass median and struck a tree on the other side of the road, according to the incident report.
Police said officers reported smelling alcohol on Robinson's breath while they were interviewing him. Robinson was transported to Stamford Hospital, at which time the police applied for a blood search warrant to determine his blood alcohol level, police said.
The blood analysis revealed that Robinson was over the legal limit, according to police.
He posted $250 bond and is scheduled to appear in court Oct. 18.
