Jacob Zhiltsov, 20, of Fairfield was arrested on a charge of driving while intoxicated at about 12:30 a.m. on Nov. 24 after an officer observed him sitting in a 2008 Honda Civic in a closed gas station parking lot on the Post Road.
The vehicle then pulled out of the lot and traveled onto Leroy Avenue and turned into the Leroy West commuter parking lot, according to police. The officer then pulled the vehicle over in the lot, according to police.
After the officer pulled the vehicle over and spoke with the driver, police said, the officer detected an odor of alcoholic beverage on Zhiltsov. He subsequently failed field sobriety tests, said police.
He posted a $250 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Dec. 5.
