Ronald Cioppa, 48, of 139 Fernwood Road, Trumbull, was arrested on Monday, Jan. 14, on a charge of driving while intoxicated.

Police said Cioppa's 2011 Infiniti M37X was stopped on the access driveway to Ox Ridge School. The right front tire of the vehicle was flattened and had rim damage, said police, who added that it could not be determined what the vehicle had struck.

Cioppa was standing next to his vehicle and advised the officer that something was wrong with it and he was unable to drive it from that location, according to police.

Police said while speaking to Cioppa, he appeared unsteady on his feet and his speech was slurred. He subsequently failed field sobriety tests, according to police.

He posted a $250 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday, Jan. 23.
