The Darien registrars of voters are in the process of compiling a preliminary registry list used in finalizing active voters for the municipal election Tuesday, Nov. 5.
The list will be available for review on Tuesday, Oct. 1, at the town clerk's office. Electors may review and challenge any portion of the list as to its accuracy.
Only those listed as active voters will be able to cast ballots in the November election. Those on the inactive list can be restored by filing a form on Election Day.
Those wishing to enroll by mail must forward a request with a postmark dated no later than Tuesday, Oct. 22. Enrollment in person may be done until 8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 29, between 9 a.m. and 8 p.m.
Exceptions for late registration are for those turning 18 or moving into Darien after the Oct. 29 deadline. They may register until Nov. 4 at the registrars' office.
Unregistered voters may come to the registrars' office in Town Hall on Election Day to file a voter registration form and vote in the registrars' office.
