Darien resident prepares for SoNo Stroll

As a resident of Darien for 22 years, Kathleen Williams has always strived to give back to the surrounding community as a board member of the Norwalk-based Human Services Council and co-chairman of its fundraising committee. She is busy preparing for the fourth annual SoNo Stroll, a benefit for HSC, scheduled for Wednesday, June 13, in South Norwalk.

The evening begins with a cocktail reception and live/silent auction at Black Bear Saloon SoNo, followed by dinner at one of the many participating SoNo restaurants including, Bacchus, Barcelona Restaurant and Wine Bar, Black Bear Saloon SoNo, Burger Bar & Bistro, the Brewhouse, Chocopologie, Coromandel Indian -- Bistro, Donovan's, Jeff's Cuisine Bar & Catering, the Ginger Man, Match, O'Neill's Pub and Restaurant, Pasta Nostra and Strada 18. For more than six decades, the Human Services Council has developed and implemented programs focusing on health, housing, education and volunteerism providing services to more than 8,000 children and adolescents each year. Among its programs are the Children's Connection, Dr. Robert E. Appleby School Based Health Centers, Mid-Fairfield Substance Abuse Coalition, Norwalk Mentor Program, and Voluntary Action Center of Coastal Fairfield County. and 40 South Main Street Affordable Housing.
