Anne Briggs of Darien has been named director of program development at Family & Children's Agency in Norwalk.

Briggs, a licensed clinical social worker, has been with the agency for seven years. Her background also includes experience as a social worker with agencies in Westchester County, N.Y., Massachusetts and Pennsylvania. She earned a Master of Social Work degree from Boston College, and she holds a Bachelor's degree from Bucknell University.

"[Briggs'] experience and professionalism will be wonderful assets for the agency as she steps into this new role," Rob Cashel, president and CEO of Family & Children's Agency, said. "We are confident that she will continue to make valuable contributions to the organization."

As director of program development, Briggs will be responsible for all aspects of the Agency's Quality Improvement program, with a focus on ensuring that the quality improvement plan is followed. In her new position, Briggs also will monitor the services provided by every area of the agency, as well as obtain outside funding from governmental and nonprofit organizations.

"Our services are vital to the communities we serve, and our professionals really focus on making sure that those services are effective for our clients," she said. "I am thrilled to be taking on this new role, which will provide an opportunity to work more closely with every area of the agency."
