The Darien High School rugby team concluded its inaugural varsity season with a 42-17 victory at home against Fordham Prep on Thursday, May 30. The Blue Wave scored six tries to Fordham's three.
The Blue Wave forwards were dominant, beating Fordham at the scrum and lineout, and providing ample possession to the Darien backs that had their opponents in retreat for much of the game.
Andrew Morgan was in excellent kicking form, converting each of the tries to bring the score up to 42-0 Darien by the middle of the second half.

It was at this point that Fordham began a late-game rally, scoring three tries in the last quarter, but Darien was able to withstand the late pressure.
Darien's Killer Bs were unable to replicate the A-team's dominance in facing a Fordham Prep squad that consisted of several members of its A team, and Fordham Prep scored the 20-0 win.
Retiring seniors of the Class of 2013 are Jack Bennett, Chris Brophy, Andrew Eddie, Jack Fisher, Jeffrey Gebauer, Cameron Magida, Aidan Rischmann, Ian Vanderhorn, Nick Vilter, Jimmy Weinstock (captain) and Pierce Whiting.
