Friends of Library to meet

The Friends of the Darien Library is hosting its annual meeting on Sunday, Oct. 30, at the Library, 1441 Post Road Darien.

Bill Ptacek will be the featured speaker at the annual event. Ptacek is the director of the King County Library System in Washington state. In 2010, KLCS was the nation's busiest library system, circulating more than 22.4 million items, and in 2011, the Library Journal named KLCS the Library of the Year under Ptacek's leadership.

Before Ptacek's presentation, members of the Board will give an update on developments at the library over the past year. In addition, an election of new Board Trustees will be held. The three nominees for trustee positions are Tara Ochman, Todd Raker and Marion Weatherstone.
