`The Help' screening
On Tuesday, Jan. 17, at 10:30 a.m., the Rowayton Library will show the movie "The Help." On Tuesday, Jan. 24, at 11:30 a.m., the library will host a booktalk on "The Help" with discussion leader Diana Loevy. Bring your own brown bag lunch and join them for the movie on the 17 and 24 with dessert and coffee served. Multiple copies of the book are available at the Rowayton Library. The Westport Arts Center will present "On Duty: Weegee, Metinides, Odertmatt," featuring works by three influential photographers who worked in the late 1930s to the present day: A Swiss policeman, Arnold Odermatt; a Mexican photojournalist, Enrique Metinides; and New York photojournalist, Arthur Fellig, known as "Weegee." The exhibition will run through Sunday, Jan. 15.
Disney on Ice at Norwalk Library
The regularly scheduled story time at the Norwalk Public Library, 1 Belden Avenue, will become a magical experience for area children on Friday, Jan. 6, at 10:30 a.m. Skaters from Disney On Ice celebrates 100 Years of Magic will join the librarians in reading some classic Disney tales to children from nearby daycare centers and elementary schools. Following the stories, the children will get to meet and take pictures with stars of the show and have their pictures taken. This event is open to the public.
Fashion exhibit at historical society
Darien Historical Society will feature the exhibit "Fashion Transformed -- La Belle Epoque to Moderne, 1900 - 1920," which traces the radical changes in women's fashion, through Jan. 27. The society is at 45 Old Kings Highway North, Darien. Call 203-655-9233 or visit darienhistorical.org.

DivorceCare will take place at Noroton Presbyterian Church, 2011 Post Road, Darien, next month.
DivorceCare is a confidential weekly seminar for people who are separated or divorced. It is a safe environment for learning information about healing from the hurt of divorce.
The next session begins Monday, Jan. 23, and runs for 10 weeks through April 2. No meeting on Feb. 20. The format is set up for participants to join at any time.
Visit the parlor at 7:15 p.m. for refreshments; the program is from 7:30 to 9 p.m. for the program. There is a $15 fee for the workbook.
First Saturdays at the Nature Center
On the first Saturday of each month Nature Center naturalists will lead guided activities for visitors. This is a free drop-in program. Participants are encouraged to support these programs by being current members of the New Canaan Nature Center.
