Darien's Gorham Pond tidegates scheduled to opened

The Darien Department of Public Works will open the Gorham's Pond tidegates on Thursday, March 14, and close them on Friday, March 22, to allow for flushing and cleaning of the pond.

Opening the gates after extensive rainstorms or a series of extreme high tides is impossible because of the large volume of water flowing over the dam. Therefore, the opening or closing of gates may be delayed dependent on weather.
