Darien's Kratky signs Letter of Intent to play lacrosse at Virginia

Darien's Jeff Kratky of the Taft High School class of 2013 signed his National Letter of Intent to play lacrosse for the University of Virginia.

Kratky has been a varsity lacrosse starter since his freshman year as a faceoff midfielder. In 2012, Inside Lacrosse ranked Kratky the 44th overall player nationally in the class of 2013. He was named All Western New England Prep School Athletic Association (WNEPSAA) Division-I team his sophomore and junior seasons.

Kratky was on the Under Armour New England Boys Lacrosse team in 2011 and 2012, winning the national championship in 2011 and runner up in the 2012 championship game.

In 2011, ESPNHS ranked him the No. 31 player in the national class of 2013. To date, Kratky has earned nine varsity letters in football, wrestling and lacrosse at Taft.

The University of Virginia has won four NCAA titles in the last 20 years and has reached the Final Four 13 times. Most recently, Virginia won the NCAA title in 2011.
