Royle Elementary School hosted the Royle Round up May 22. The family event, which returned after a 15-year hiatus, featured classic games such as goldfish in a bag, pony rides and a cake walk. Families also set up booths with homemade goods. Above, Sam Silsby enjoys the country fair-style lemonade

Cake walk emcee Beth Cherico and her fourth-grade son James show off one of the cakes donated as a prize. Every 15 minutes fair-goers walked around in a circle and the person left standing on the winning spot when the music stopped walked away with a frosted delight.

The New Round Up High Striker was fun for children and parents. Royle parent Mike Taylor tends the booth he helped build along with Royle dads John Baliotti and Joe Larizza. When Taylor was a student at Royle in the '70s, his family housed games like this in their garage in between fairs.
