Darien's Tingley named vice chairman of United Way

Darien resident Sam Tingley will be the vice chairman of the board of directors of the United Way of Coastal Fairfield County for 2012-13.

"We are fortunate to have strong leadership in our board of directors," said Merle Berke-Schlessel, president and CEO, United Way of Coastal Fairfield County. "Sam has been a tremendous asset to our organization." Tingley is the division manager of New England Middle Market Banking for Citizens Bank. He is responsible for managing commercial banking operations in Fairfield County. Previous to joining Citizens Bank, he was a senior vice president at JP Morgan Chase, where he was employed for 25 years. He has served as a Bridgeport Regional Business Council board member in the past. He also served as the chairman of the Finance Committee of United Way of Coastal Fairfield County.
