While Republican probate judge candidate John Ryan received the majority of Darien's votes with 905, Mike Murray was elected thanks to the 434 votes he won in New Canaan.

In Darien, Murray received 791 votes and Bill Osterndorf received 125.

Darien Republicans voted as follows:

The gubernatorial race went to Tom Foley with 829 votes. Mike Fedele received 762 and Oz Griebel received 115.

Mark D. Boughton of Danbury won lieutenant governor 830 votes; Lisa Wilson-Foley received 740.

Linda McMahon took the Senate race with 987 votes; Peter David Schiff received 438 and Rob Simmons received 371.

The Fourth District Congressional race went to Dan Debicella with 1,193 votes; Rob Merkle received 297 and Rick Torres received 155.

Attorney general race went to Martha Dean with 1,008 votes; Ross Garber received 511.

Results for Darien Democrats:

Dan Malloy received 328 votes in the gubernatorial race; Ned Lamont received 204.

For lieutenant governor, Nancy Wyman received 341 votes and Mary Glassman received 163.

In the comptroller race, Kevin Lembo received 345 votes; Michael J. Jarjura received 105.

For Secretary of State, Denise Merrill received 289 votes; Gerry Garcia received 183.
