DARIEN — A 19-year-old Darien man was charged after allegedly hosting a bonfire with alcohol when both he and his guests were under the legal drinking age.

On June 8 around 11:45 p.m., officers responded to Greenwood Avenue after a report of a loud party. There, officers met with David Santa, who said he was having friends over for a bonfire and that he was 21 years old.

Officers saw teens running from the house while they were speaking with Santa. Two drunk 19-year-old guests were found at the house and turned over to their parents. Police also found red cups and empty beer cans scattered around the property. Santa denied providing the alcohol but declined to say who did provide it.

Santa was charged with providing alcohol to minors. He was released on a $500 bond and given a court date of June 19.
