Katilin Marino, 18, of Buttonwood Lane, turned herself in on a warrant Sept. 15 for a motor vehicle accident that resulted in a DWI, police said.

The warrant stemmed from report of vehicle rollover at about 7:20 July 18 in which Marino was the driver, police said.

Police were dispatched to Post Road near Dubois Street and upon questioning Marino, noticed a strong odor of alcohol and said she was slurring her words.

After the accident she was transported to Norwalk Hospital for injuries sustained in the accident.

Marino flipped her Volkswagen Jetta and hit the passenger of another driver in a Honda Civic, according to police. Marino said she remembered turning onto Post Road but did not remember the accident, according to the report. The driver of the other vehicle had a laceration to their left arm due to the accident.

A blood alcohol test was taken at the hospital which police said confirmed Marino had alcohol in her system.

She was charged with one count of operation of motor vehicle by a minor having blood alcohol level above normal and failure to drive right.

Police said Marino was able to post a $250 bond and has a court date for Sept. 26.
