'Digital dragon' addressed at lecture

The final session of the Darien Community Association's 2014 Academic Lecture Series on Global Issues -- "China Changes the Guard" -- will take place at 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 7, with Charles Freeman III, who will present "The Digital Dragon: China's Role in Cyberspace."

A vice president of Rock Creek Global Advisors, Freeman focuses on international regulatory and policy matters, concentrating on Asian markets.

He advises multinational companies, financial institutions and trade associations. Previously, he served as assistant U.S. trade representative for China affairs, acting as chief China trade negotiator helping to shape U.S. trade policy toward China, and oversaw U.S. efforts to integrate China into the World Trade Organization.
