As of 10 a.m. Tuesday, 616 out of 8,340 eligible voters had cast ballots in Darien's U.S. Senate primary, a turnout of 7.3 percent.

Of the 6,027 registered Republicans in town, 515, or 8.5 percent, had voted in the race between Linda E. McMahon and Christopher Shays.

Of the 2,313 registered Democrats, 101, or 4.3 percent, had voted in the race between Chris Murphy and Susan Bysiewicz,

Darien Democratic Registrar of Voters Thomas Dunn said the turnout is "pretty low" and attributes it to the number of people who are on vacation during this time of year.
