Former Darien baby sitter charged with larceny

Laura Almanche, 33, of 15 Ingleside Ave., Norwalk, was arrested on Wednesday, March 13, on a charge of fourth-degree larceny.

According to the report, a complaint was received on Dec. 20 from a Darien resident who told police that Almanche had worked as the family's baby sitter and was provided with a credit card to purchase household items. Police said they ascertained that Almanche had used the credit card on numerous occasions to purchase items for her own use without authorization, totaling $1,942.04.

Almanche turned herself in after being made aware of an arrest warrant, said police. She was released on written promise to appear in court on Monday, March 25.
