In a school-wide effort to celebrate Teacher Appreciation Day at Tokeneke School, PTO vice-chairman Lesley Osborn and her committee hung colorful child-sized hands decorated by students for their homeroom teachers.

Each child, from kindergarten to fifth grade, was asked to decorate a hand with a picture or a note illustrating how much they value their teacher. The hands were hung on the windows after the school day on May 7 so the teachers would be greeted by messages and images when they walked into work on May 8. In addition to the hands display, parents also cleaned out and stocked the teachers' lounge, where a special lunch was served.
