This month, second-graders in Sarah Obuchowski's class at Hindley are getting a lesson in different holiday customs and celebrations.

Last week, the students learned each day of Kwanzaa is dedicated to one of the seven principles: unity, self-determination, responsibility, cooperative economics, purpose, creativity and faith. The class displaying their handmade "mkekas," which serves as a mat for the Kwanzaa feast.
