Christopher Bogart, the executive director of the Southfield Center for Development, will give parents strategies to help their children with homework from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 27, in the Darien Town Hall auditorium.

The event is sponsored by YWCA Darien/Norwalk as part of its Parent Awareness program.

Bogart, whose talk is "Taming the Homework Monster: Practical Strategies to Reduce the Daily Drama," will provide suggestions on how parents can teach their children to structure long-term and nightly homework assignments, become more organized, and better understand and manage their time.

This program is free and is geared toward parents with children in grades 4 to 8. Online registration is encouraged at www.ywcadariennorwalk.org/parent-awareness/489-upcoming-events.

Bogart is a licensed clinical psychologist who has worked in the private and public sectors for the past 20 years.
