The Darien Nature Center is gearing up for its annual Halloween Hoot & Howl on Sunday, Oct. 28, from 4 to 6 p.m.

"Magnificent Masks," the current exhibit featuring masks created by area artists, will greet families as they enter the main gallery at this year's fall open house at 120 Brookside Road.

Among the activities and offerings planned are hayrides, a haunted hike, campfire stories, s'mores, seasonal craft projects, refreshments and live animals. A magician will also perform.

Refreshments will be served, including pizza for the kids, provided by Rowayton Pizza.
