DARIEN — It’s a natural fit for the Darien Nature Center—creative holiday wreaths highlighting natural items, repurposing and fun.

Various local artists stepped up to create 50 different pieces that used every conceivable item and material, including Jenga blocks, peacock feathers, G.I.Joe’s, Lego, bottle caps, hair brushes and herbs. Items were auctioned during a party Friday night.

“This is the 15th Festival of Wreaths,” said Leila Wetmore, executive director. “It’s a tradition for starting the holidays.”
