On Thursday, May 17, items valuing $1,000 were reported stolen from a vehicle being transported on a car carrier from Dallas to Darien.

A box containing costume jewelry worth $200 and two duffle bags of clothes worth $800 were stolen, the report said.

Police said the larceny took place between May 7 and 17, when the vehicle was being transported. The victim told Darien police the vehicle was supposed to be delivered May 11, but was delayed because of problems with the carrier. Police suspect the larceny took place in Texas.
