The YWCA of Darien/Norwalk's Job Search Support program offers women computer classes focused on skills often required for employment, such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Publisher.

Morning and evening classes begin Jan. 8.

The program provides guidance for women in all stages of the job search process. A free half-hour consultation is offered for resume review or to discuss any aspect of the job search. The range of services offered by the program includes:

Computer classes: Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher) with exercises that provide practical applications to the workplace. Keyboarding for those needing to learn or improve typing skills.

One-on-one resume writing assistance: Learn how to leverage past job or volunteer experience and translate it into experience that gets the right job.

Individual job search strategy/coaching: Learn how to negotiate the waters of the job search process, prepare for an interview, network with others in the field and search for jobs on the Internet.

For information or to register, visit ywcadariennorwalk.org or email the coordinator, Kate Foster, at katef@ywcadariennorwalk.org.
