The Darien League of Women Voters plans two events prior to the Nov. 6 election.

There is a contested race for the Board of Education with four candidates vying for three open seats. The league and the Council of Darien School Parents will host a candidates forum on Thursday at the Darien Library. The event begins with a reception at 6:30 p.m. and the program from 7 to 8:15. The candidates will each deliver a brief opening statement and then answer questions.

On Tuesday, Oct. 23, at Town Hall, the Norwalk and Stamford LWVs are co-sponsoring a forum for the candidates for state Senate and state House. A reception in the lobby at 7 p.m. will be followed by a debate and discussion of issues" at 7:30. A question period will follow the presentations.
