The Darien Parks and Recreation Department announces that, due to a lack of available and qualified lifeguards, Pear Tree Point and Weed Beaches will have limited lifeguard coverage for the rest of the 2010 beach season (through Sept. 6).

Signs will be placed at both beaches notifying the public as to dates and hours of lifeguard coverage. Guarded swim areas will be determined by lifeguards on a daily basis.

The Parks and Recreation Department apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause and reminds all patrons that they should always exercise caution in any aquatic environment.
