For the eighth year in a row, photographer Ben Larrabee, of Darien, has installed a show of his family portraits at the Sconset Cafe on Nantucket Island.

Larrabee is an award-winning photographer with work in the permanent collections, including at the Museum of Modern Art in New York and the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston.

Sconset Cafe owners Rolf and Cindy Nelson invited Larrabee to hang his work exclusively in their restaurant after his black-and-white portraits of families were well-received by customers.

The show, which often includes portraits of Darien families, has become a yearly tradition.

"We're happy to welcome Ben's work back again in the cafe," Rolf Nelson said.

"The exhibit says so much about Nantucket."

Larrabee will be on Nantucket photographing families between July 20 and

Aug. 1.
