The Community Fund of Darien would like to thank Barrett's Bookstore, Darien resident and organizer, Marla Chandler, and the Country Club of Darien for making our Feb. 12 book benefit with author Kelly Corrigan such a resounding success.

We had a fantastic turnout of nearly 250 guests, and the event raised more than $5,000 for The Community Fund of Darien's grant making to support local nonprofits. Kelly Corrigan provided engaging and humorous insights into her new memoir, "Glitter and Glue." In "Glitter and Glue," Kelly Corrigan refers to her mother as the glue that holds the family together. In Marla Chandler's introduction, she noted that The Community Fund is like the glue for our town, connecting Darien with local nonprofits and critical needs.

There were lots of laughs, and tears, as Kelly Corrigan read poignant excerpts from her book, which since its early February release is now on the best seller charts.

Attendees were able to learn more about the Community Fund of Darien, and its mission to improve lives for those less fortunate in Darien, Norwalk and Stamford by investing wisely in the human services agencies that help them. TCF's grants address a broad spectrum of vital human service needs, including homelessness, hunger, mental health, youth programs, families in crisis, abuse and more.

Thank you to all those attended and for your support of The Community Fund.
