I want to convey my heartfelt thanks and sincere appreciation to the Darien Police Department for their amazing work in capturing the perpetrators of a theft and assault on Thursday, Jan. 30.

This home invasion and assault were a shocking nightmare for me and my family. However, on a positive note, I feel blessed our police force was able to track down and apprehend these individuals. Within eight minutes of the break in and robbery, the suspects were in custody.

My personal thank you again to all the detectives in our police force and to Officer Jim Martin and his partner, Officer Court Isaac, for a safe ending to a terrible experience.

Even though we have expert police protection, I would implore everyone to keep doors locked in your home at all times, whether you are outside or inside.
