To the Editor:
Sunday July 2, thousands of Darien residents young and old have gathered on the grounds of the Darien High School for food, fun and fireworks. Before the fireworks filled the sky, patriotic music filled the air along with the savory smells of a variety of food trucks that lined the campus.
This wonderful Darien tradition would not be possible without the tireless support of David Genovese and several local businesses including: The Darien Chamber of Commerce, Baywater Properties, First County Bank, Grove Street Plaza, Mac Guire, Cheswick and Tuttle, The Darien Sport Shop, Halstead Property, Rings End, Nielsen's, The Darien Times, Growing Concern, Merrill Lynch, Orchard, Rand Insurance, and The Darien Toy Box.
We would also like to thank the Town of Darien, the Darien Community Band, Noroton Heights Fire Department, Darien Police Department, Post 53, Darien High School Custodial Staff as well as the Darien Public Schools Administration and Board of Education, the Darien Athletic Foundation and Mireille Champsaur. Finally, the food vendors including Valencia, Kona Ice, LobsterCraft, Mr Softee, Baskin Robbins, Pizza Truck. and Meltmobile.
See you next year!
