During the final phase of my 12-year tenure as Darien's tax collector, I was fortunate to work alongside Kathy Larkins, who is now running to be the next tax collector and needs your vote on Tuesday, Nov. 5.
Kathy proved herself competent in practicing Connecticut state property tax law, both by training on the job,as well as having successfully passed the first two of four state courses which will lead to her be a certified state municipal collector.
With her bachelor of science degree in accounting from the University of Connecticut and successful passing of the nationally recognized CPA exam, Kathy is imminently qualified to serve as your tax collector.
Recently, Kathy affected a seamless and successful transition from me just after the Board of Selectmen unanimously approved her interim appointment followed by the RTC vote endorsing her placement on the November ballot.
I have observed Kathy's interactions with taxpayers, Town Hall managers and staff, lawyers, banks, title searchers and others who need her assistance with a variety of matters.
Always polite and respectful, Kathy's personal approach with the many constituents helps to ensure the tax collection process is accurate, fair and efficient.
In closing I urge you to vote for Kathy Larkins for tax collector on Nov. 5. I also wish all of the candidates on the Republican ticket support and good luck.
