Library features Darien resident's lighthouse paintings

Steve Fritsch's paintings of Fairfield County lighthouses are on display in Darien Library's art gallery until Thursday, Dec. 6.

The show features the lighthouses at Sheffield Island, Peck's Ledge, Green Ledge and Stamford, as well as seascapes, still lifes and other subjects.

Fritsch studied at Paier School of Art in New Haven for five years and went on to be an art director and to illustrate for a large New York City advertising agency. He left the agency after 10 years and opened his own studio in the city, specializing in humorous illustrations. Fifteen years later, he moved his studio to his home in Darien, CT doing illustrations and fine art. He currently exhibits locally.

The library's regular hours are Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from 1 to 5 p.m.
