Library hosts 'Sexpectations' guest lecture about gender stereotypes

What color will you paint the nursery? Will your children play with a doll or toy trucks? Expectations about how to treat boys differently than girls still abound in American society, even 40 years after Title IX was passed.

On Thursday, May 24 at 7 p.m., guest lecturer Laura Pappano, an award winning journalist, author and blogger who writes about education, social issues and gender will speak about the "Sexpectations" running through our society that dictate social norms for children and adults, based on gender.
