Man arrested for cocaine in town

Edward Martin, 33, of White Plains, N.Y., was arrested on May 28 for possession of cocaine, driving under the influence and operating an unregistered vehicle.
Darien Police were assisting Stamford Police with a DUI checkpoint in town when Martin entered the checkpoint in his 1999 BMW, police said. He admitted he drank four beers earlier that evening. He was transported to Stamford police headquarters where a bag of cocaine was found in the pocket of his shorts, police said. He was later transported to Darien where an additional two bags of cocaine were found in a cigarette box, police said.

Martin posted a $1,000 bond and was scheduled to appear in court on June 7.
