An employee of Merrill Lynch, 1020 Post Road, Darien, was assaulted March 12 as he walked through a parking lot, according to police.
At 8:35 a.m., the man saw another man run toward him, yelling, but the victim was unsure what he was saying at first, police said. The victim said the man then yelled that he was looking for something on the Post Road, police said.
The victim proceeded toward the office, according to police, but the man ran around the front of him and punched him in the eye. The victim fell to the ground and injured his knuckles, police said. The assailant and victim struggled on the ground, police said. The victim said he asked the man what he wanted.
The assailant then got up and ran off toward the Post Road and entered a black pick-up truck and left, the report stated.
The assailant is described as 6 feet tall, in his 30s and heavy set with dark skin and of either Middle Eastern or Indian descent, according to the report. The victim said he never had seen the assailant or the truck before, police said.
