Mario Pemberty, 28, of Stamford, was arrested on a warrant Jan. 27 in connection with stolen paint from Ring's End Lumber Dec. 7.

A manager at Ring's End Lumber reported the theft after three Hispanic males walked into the store and loaded two boxes with four gallons of paint each. Pemberty also picked a gallon of paint and walked out of the store without paying for it, police said. The paint was valued at $340.

Pemberty returned to Ring's End Lumber to open a contractor's account but was confronted by employees, police said. Pemberty admitted he gave the paint to friends, police said.

He was released on a promise to appear and scheduled to appear in court Feb. 6.
