Ascrubal Castrillou, 36, of 27 Dunn Ave., Stamford, was arrested on Friday, May 3, on a charge of sixth-degree larceny in connection to a March theft.
Castrillou was made aware of a warrant for his arrest and turned himself in to police, according to the report.
Police said the arrest stems from an incident that occurred on March 26 at Rings End Lumber, 181 West Ave.
Management reported that a person had walked out of the store without paying for a Dewalt power drill valued at $349.99, police said. The theft was captured on the store's video surveillance system, according to the report. The suspect, at first, legitimately charged some items to the account of his boss, and then went to the power drill area, picked up the set and walked out of the store, police said.
The company that was charged for the items was contacted and Castrillou was identified as the person responsible for the theft, according to the report, and upon officers' speaking with him, police said, he admitted his involvement and the theft.
